Description
Gracie Moon is ecstatic to collect your trash! Out of self-soothing repetitions of walking, mediating, noticing, and collecting, her routine evolved into an archive of the things we carry, either because we forgot we had them or refused to let go of them.
The greenhouse installation took inspiration from the Japanese concept of Wabi Sabi, and the idea that our collected objects, some broken, tattered, and worn from time, could take on a new life, alchemizing into totems of our collective memories.
Viewers were encouraged to continue contributing objects to the greenhouse as a reflection on the things we carry, preserve, discard, and remember.
